Carpet tiles it s not cheap but it is quite effective.
Huge area rug to cover up my ugly apartment carpet.
Instead of just buying a standard sized area rug that will only cover part of your ugly floor with carpet tiles you can buy many and trim them so you could basically cover every inch of an ugly floor and take it with you.
And i found out that the rug does stretch a bit which is not a huge issue.
Cover all or at least most of that ugly carpet using an area rug.
Unlike wall to wall carpeting that s fixed in place you can simply lay an area rug over the existing floor covering.
Add an area rug.
Instead of living with that hideous floor covering cover it up using your own homemade floor cloth or area rugs that suit your decorative style.
Needless to say the rug was plenty large enough to cover the ugly carpet.
One large area rug per room can cover a majority of the carpeting beneath it.
If the original carpeting still shows around the perimeter of the room select rugs that contain neutrals or colors that coordinate with the original floor covering.
I figured this would be about as close i was going to get to the 10 x 10 size.
But when the rug arrived it ended up being about 8 x 11.
Thankfully layered rugs are on trend so look around your rental to determine if there are logical places to put area rugs or runners.
The reasons for going the carpet tile route versus just an area rug is that it s a bit more flexible this way.
Placing rugs over the carpeting will not only decrease the amount of the ugly carpet you see on a daily basis but they can also add some fun color and pattern.
