Infected Rug Burn

With a rug burn the friction that is generated from the contact between the skin and the rug generates a mild amount of heat.

Clean cloth burn cream antibiotic cream aloe vera cream or gel over the counter pain reliever gauze bandage. Turf burn can lead to a staph infection. Rinse the burn and clean it with warm water and gentle soap. Cover the burn with a dry dressing.

These infections are caused by the staphylococcus bacteria. This type of germ is found on the skin but can enter the body through scrapes and cuts. If the burn is caused by a chemical rinse the area with clean running or poured water to try to flush the chemical away. If the rug burn gets really red swollen hot to the touch very painful not just a little sore even when you are not touching it oozes pus from underneath the hardened scab red streaks start branching out from the burn your lymph nodes on your neck swell up or it starts to smell bad then you have an infection and you need to see the doctor for some anitbiotic pills.

Typically rug burn is minor and doesn t cause lasting. By running or pouring water over the burn the chemical may be pushed off and away from the skin. This heat causes damage to the tissue in the top layer of skin. Rug burns are treated much the same way as other types of burns.

Burns damage the skin which acts as a protective barrier for your body and can put you at risk for an infection. An untreated infected burn wound can lead to sepsis which is an infection that travels through the blood and can cause organ failure shock and death. It is okay to moisturize and soothe a rug burn with a burn gel or ointment. Remove any clothing or fabric that is stuck to the burned area.

A rug burn is a form of first degree burn caused by friction. Also called a friction burn or carpet burn rug burn occurs when the skin rubs or slides against an abrasive surface like a rug or carpet. Unlike a thermal burn there is no need to rinse a rug burn. Some infections may also necessitate amputation in severe cases.

Thus it is vital to recognize the signs of a burn wound infection and inform your doctor right away to receive treatment.
